Edward was the secretary to the Virginia Company of London, which is the company that sponsored the Jamestown settlement.

Whose point of view, given the topic, is missing?  

The Native Americans.

Do you consider the source a reliable one on this topic?  Why/why not? 

It is reliable in what they plan to do with the Natives in order to solve their problem, but it does not tell you how the English are at fault for what they did to insight the Natives.

Jamestown was founded fifteen years before the document was written.

Chief Powhatan died leaving his brother as his successor, who was not as friendly with the English.

The document was written for investors of the Virginia Company of London.

This was most likely a business flier.

This is most likely a little private just for the investors to know why they might be loosing money.

The document was written to inform investors and offer a solution to their Native problem.

What is the document saying? 

That the Natives are savages and slaughtered hundreds of English residents, and with more money they can drive out and kill all the native for good which afterwards would increase revenue. 

Tone

What is the attitude of the speaker?

Vengeful, because he wants reparations from the natives in the form of blood.

Christopher Columbus was born in Italy and was commissioned by Spain to find a cheaper route to Asia.

No, because Christopher Columbus was most likely just looking to become rich or become a nobility, not to mention the fact that he thought he was in India but was actually in America.

It was written on Columbus's ride back to Spain, he was writing to inform Luis de Santangel, a priest, how easy it would be to convert the natives to Christianity.

 The Treaty of Tordesillas and Spain forced out all Islamic people.

I believe that the letter is more formal than private but I do not think that he intended for it to get published that's why there arn't many personal opinions.

 That the natives need to be converted, he also needs another reason for a second voyage.

They started to explore because a new cheaper trade route to Asia was needed in order to supply goods such as spices and silk cheaply.

The mariners compass, the renaissance helped bring back optimism and a sense of adventure. Also most importantly a less expensive trade route was needed to transport goods from Asia.

Europeans got tobacco, corn, beans, tomatoes, and potatoes they were also introduced to syphilis. Native Americans got horses and pigs they also got smallpox, yellow fever, and malaria which killed 90% of their population.

Yes and no some conquistadores were viewed as great men because they discovered a lot of new land goods for their country. Where as others were morally wrong because they killed and took advantage of the natives in search of gold.

Some were because they wanted royal titles, to spread Christianity, and become rich but most did not and went into debt.

            Cortez had eleven ships with hundreds of men as well as twenty thousand native allies.
